Last Tuesday was one incredible day, it reminded me so much of the day my boys were born except mine were by emergency c section where as these lovely little ones were planned c section at 35 weeks…..

First out was Alexis  at a great weight of almost 2.5 kilos…..by the time they lifted her out and then into the arms of the midwife it was the little boy Finnigan’s turn… all the doctors were amazed and allowed me to come in even closer to capture the below photos as he was born still in his sac:  Being born ‘en caul’ means a portion of the amniotic sac or membrane remains on the baby’s head at birth. It affects less than one-in-100,000 newborns. A caul is a thin, filmy membrane that may be attached to the head, face and ears or could drape over the head and cover part of the torso.   It was incredible to document and if you look below you’ll see Finnigans little hand up near his face still in the sac…..and another great weight of almost 2 kilos…

Then off to special care for the next two hours with the dad whilst mum was in recovery, two hours later and finally this lovely mum was wheeled into special care to visit her babies……such a special moment…  then the next day it was back to the hospital to photograph these babies big brother William meeting them for the first time in special care…..  and mum could finally have her first cuddle with little Finnigan..  Little miss Alexis even though was born larger was having some trouble with her oxygen levels so no first cuddles just yet for her…

Such a beautiful experience and one that i won’t forget in a long time..  Congrats guys and thanks for allowing me to be a part of your birth story……
