New for this year i’m now offering a special for those that are having their baby via planned c section.. I know from my own experience as i had my twin boys via emergency c section and i missed out on all those little details like first cuddle, skin to skin, measuring, weighing, i will be there to capture all of that so you will have those moments documented for you.. Plus as this is a planned c section the package can be significantly reduced as i am not on call and i can be there for 3 to 4 hours as C sections are usually very straight forward…
Cost : $650
you receive 3 to 4 hours of coverage from the actual birth to when you are reunited back with your baby.

at last the time has come and my boys are old enough that i can now offer Birth photography, What an incredible experience it is to document a little ones entry into the world. I’m so honoured to be there to record your most raw and intimate moments during childbirth, the intense emotions, the joy of finally having your little one in your arms…..It’s incredible……. Here are a few questions and answers for you in regard to birth photography:
HOW MANY BIRTHS DO I BOOK A MONTH.
At this stage i’m limiting myself to 1 a month to ensure that have your full attention as babies have a mind of their own and will come early or late.. I’m on call from 39 weeks to 41 weeks, that means 24 hours a day , anytime day or night, even 2 am, yep anytime.. This is why i only want 1 booking per month… So if you’re thinking of booking in don’t leave it too late…
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
At the moment i’m offering my Birth packages at $1300.. This includes my time with you at the hospital, and 150 Images on a usb.. Plus an app for your phone with a selection of images the day after your birth so you can see your photos quickly… and relive the moment…
there is also the option to include a newborn shoot within the first 2 weeks of baby being born for $500 ( this is half price of current newborn shoot )..
WHAT HOSPITALS DO I PHOTOGRAPH AT.
Kareena , Sutherland, Hurstville Private and St George allow a birth photographer in the delivery suite, you do need to discuss this with your midwifes and nurses well before the due date as some hospitals require me to sign some paperwork..
HOW DO YOU BOOK IN A BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT?
As soon as you know what hospital your’e going to it’s best to be in contact with myself, ( Tanya ) you can call me on 0414 808 964 or email tanyatindale@bigpond.com . We can meet for a cuppa or chat over the phone about your birth etc and i can then take a deposit of $300 that locks your birth in.. The balance isn’t due till after your actual birth.
WHAT TO DO THE LAST FEW WEEKS OF YOUR PREGNANCY?
so each time you go to your checkup if you can keep me posted if your dates are likely to change, or if they are thinking of inducing you for any reason.. That last week of your pregnancy they sometimes do the Stretch and Sweep which can bring on labour, keep me posted each time they do that so i can ensure i’m ready to go when you it’s go time……
WHEN DO YOU CALL ME WHEN YOU’RE IN LABOUR?
If you send me a text when you are in labour that way i can clear up my day to ensure i’m there for you.. If you are heading to hospital in the middle of the night it is best to CALL me as i don’t want to sleep thru a text.. Each time they do a check on your progress you can then just text me to let me know how many centimetres you are.. When you are 6 to 7 cm and coming into active labour CALL me and i’ll be there in 20 minutes..
HOW LONG DO I STAY FOR?
Once you’re in active labour and around 6 to 7 cm it usually is around 2 to 3 hours later that you’ll have your little one but i also understand that things can stall. If that happens i’ll just wait it out with you . Once you’ve had your baby i’ll be there for the first hour after they are born to document all the weights, lengths and first feed with you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED AN EMERGENCY CEASER?
This can be discussed with your midwifes and drs well before your actual labour as i will need to be approved to come into the labour by them before the day, if by some reason they won’t allow me in i’ll be there still to take photos of all your babies first skin to skin, measurements etc. Most hospitals will allow me to photograph in the Theatre…..
WHAT IF I DON’T MAKE IT IN TIME?
If for some reason that i don’t make it to the hospital in time for your birth ( if you birth really quickly) i will still cover as much as i can and do the skin to skin etc and measurements…… I will have the few days leading up to your birth and the next few after left available so i am on standby for yourself so i can’t imagine that i won’t make it in time…But if in the event and i can’t get to the hospital you can put the $300 deposit towards your newborn shoot…
WHAT KIND OF PHOTOS DO I TAKE?
I am very discrete and we will discuss before the day exactly what kind of images you’d like me to photograph, as in graphic actual birth crowning shots.. I will concentrate more on the emotion of the labour and the childbirth i endeavour to take the photos from the side angle as to show the emotion but not too graphic.. If you want graphic shots included in your photos i can do that as well.. I’m not squeamish or scared of a bit of blood.. haha.. I won’t take photos of the dr’s or nurses faces where possible due to their privacy etc..
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE LABOUR?
Once i arrive i will take a few photos then give you some space , the last thing you want is a camera in your face the entire time.. I’ll be coming in and out to give you some privacy unless you’re having a super fast labour then i’ll be staying put.. When the nurses do an internal i will not be taking photos of that and again will be giving you your privacy.. Rest assured i won’t be far away if i do step out , often i’m just in the hallway listening from afar..
WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?
Yep i know that sounds weird but if you wear a bra top or crop top then when you look back at your photos you’ll be more inclined to share them with family or friends if you are partially covered.. Once the labour is in full swing i have had clients be totally undressed and that’s totally fine, you need to be 100% comfortable during the labour…
DO I SHARE THE IMAGES?
I will always ask your permission to share any images, i will respect your privacy 100%… Any that you are happy with me sharing they will be on my Facebook business page, instagram and a blog post on my website..
